Incorrect query code might be generated when you use the SQL Join transformation in SAS® Data Integration Studio and a Cloudera Impala database table is the target table for the transformation. In addition, you can see the following error message:
The incorrect query can be generated when the following options are set in the properties for the SQL Join transformation:
The SQL Join transformation uses the DELETE statement to remove all records from the Impala table. Impala does not support the DELETE statement. Instead, Impala supports the TRUNCATE statement to remove records from the table, beginning in Cloudera Distribution Hadoop 5.5 or a later version.
The workaround for the issue is to modify the SQL procedure pass-through code, by changing the DELETE statement to a TRUNCATE statement. Refer to Cloudera documentation for the proper syntax.
